This piece imagines an excited, agitated fluid of sounds. This fluid is made up of small, almost everyday percussive elements. The different currents in this fluid form various contours, swirls, directions. In this patter compaction to recognizability seem to happen, but it takes no hold.

The ambient sound is essential for this piece. The listener is within the sound, surrounded by its diverging directions. The spatialisation is achieved by the ambisonic technique, which, to me, seemed particularly suitable here. It is realised with the software Csound, on the basis of work on ambisonics from the ICST in Zurich (my special thanks to Johannes Schütt). To conduct the sound fluid I developed a purpose-built software instrument combining the Lisp programming language and the Csound software.
