Hosting culture

In the realm of the Hanover Society for Contemporary Music I am hosting the inter-cultural projects DASTGAH and TRAIECT. The main focus is the encounter between composers of contemporary music with different other cultural traiditions. Each TRAIECT starts with a workshop in which composers and instrumentalists meet each other, and show each other their view and practice of music.

TRAIECT IV Vietnam

Seven premieres of pieces for Ca Trù singing (VŨ Thị Thùy Linh), Đàn Bầu (NGÔ Trà My) and electonics by Michele Abondano, James Anderson, Emanuele Grossi, HÀ Thúy Hằng, LƯƠNG Huệ Trinh, Ehsan Khatibi and Julia Mihály. Hannover, Bremen and Berlin 23.-29.11.2023.

TRAIECT III Taiwan

Six premieres of pieces for Pakkoan ensemble (LIU Yu-Hsiu, HE Yi-Jen) and electronics by CHEN Chengwen, Farzia Fallah, Marijana Janevska, Eduardo Moguillansky, Rachel Walker, and Nan Zhang. Hanover 23-28 November 2021

TRAIECT II Iran

Eight premieres of pieces for Tanbur (Mehdi Jalali) or Oud (Yasamin Shahhosseini) and electronics by Sara Abazari, Arsalan Abedian, Fatemeh Alipour, Dilxat Dawut, Shadi Kassaee, Tobias Klich, Afshin Motlaghfard, Ali Radman, and Örnólfur Eldon Þórsson. Hanover 18-23 November 2018.

TRAIECT I Korea

Five premieres of pieces for traditional korean percussions (Sori Choi) and electronics by Hyo-jee Kang, Jung-eun Park, Hye-yeon Choi, Jieun Noh, and Danbi Jeong. Hanover 12-16 November 2017.

DASTGAH

A festival for contemporary Iranian music, premiering pieces by Fozié Majd, Shahrokh Khajenouri, Kiawasch Sahebnassagh, Mehdi Jalali, Ehsan Khatibi, Ali Gorji, Elnaz Seyedi, and Farzia Fallah. Hanover 16.-18.09.2016, with supporting events 14-26 September 2016.
